A retired Deputy Minister of Education, several teachers, a Special Needs Coordinator and other interested persons started Excalibur After School Society in March 2001. The basic program was developed over a year and the Society opened its doors to students in September 2002. The program has since evolved. In 2011 the Society changed its name to Excalibur ADHD Associaiton to better reflect the changes in programing.

The Association wants to satisfy several goals.

The objects of the Association are:

To provide children programs, which would give them a broad background in education, sports and the arts. These programs would be available to all socio-economic levels of our society: children on government assistance; low-income families; and families that can pay the full fee for the programs.

To encourage and guide children at risk of or with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) toward a socially and economically sound future. This may include assisting them with their schoolwork, and exposing them to a balanced life style through sports and the arts.

To train hyperactive pre-school children to enable them to be better prepared for school.

To guide all caregivers in methods that enhance and enable effective communication with these children through courses, support groups, seminars and lectures.

To assist all people at risk of or with ADHD toward more balanced and successful lives.

To raise funds for bursaries for children whose families demonstrate a financial need.

To raise funds for some of the activities and to develop new programs that would assist people with ADHD.
